May Allah accept, ameen.įor my research I’ve used a number of commentaries and translations of the poem: I have made this visual guide to improve the reading experience of this blessed and legendary poem and our connection to it. For those I would very much appreciate the help and tips of those who will read it and may know more about those subjects. For the English I have used the wonderful singable and rhyming translation of Ustadh Mostafa Azzam.Īdditionally, at the end I have added 6 lines of the poem for which I have not been able to find accompanying pictures but I suspect that they probably do exist. For each one I quote both the Arabic and the English.
I have matched around 30-40 lines from the Burda (say about a quarter of the poem) with their accompanying real-life pictures and concise descriptions. I myself for example had read about the palace of Khusrow in chapter 4 but I had no idea that pictures of the ruins of that palace can be found in the internet.
I had found that there are many lines in the poem the content of which Muslims have usually heard of atleast but about which they don’t know that pictures of the things mentioned in those lines can actually be found on the internet. I have made a visual guide for this poem.
